DeMarco’s was established in 1987 on Macdade boulevard by Charlie Demarco.
Many of the original dishes were based on Charlies mother’s (Domenica) recipes. Domenica was a first generation American from Sicily who's love for cooking gave Charlie a number of traditional Italian recipes to open DeMarco's with. These recipes include our famous gravy escarole soup, and pizza sauce among others.
Demarco’s Pasta & Pub (as it was originally called) lasted 15 years on Macdade until moving to Drexel Hill where DeMarco’s Restaurant & Bar was created.
In 2014 Demarco's suffered a devastating fire closing the restaurant for 16 months. But, we returned better than ever and now operate a beautiful full service bar and restaurant.
Today we sport a great South Philadelphia vibe with our family atmosphere. We serve classic Italian favorites like our Chicken DeMarco & Chicken Marsala.
In addition to the classics, Demarco's has its own take on the new American styles to keep up with the current food trends.
We are coming up on 32 years of being family owned and operated. Come say hello to Charlie (you just may have to speak up when you do).
